01 — 05

Quick choice by context

Relative scales for comparison within this library; they do not replace a technical data sheet or testing of the actual part.

01

Indoor use and detail

Start with PLA Basic when you need stiffness, detail and predictable production.

02

Matte appearance

Choose PLA Matte when the priority is lower gloss and visually softer layer lines.

03

Moisture and general functional use

PETG HF often offers a useful balance, but it is not presented as a solution for prolonged sun or weather exposure.

04

Permanent outdoor or intense UV exposure

No currently offered material is presented as a solution for this exposure; the project must be reviewed before any commitment.

01

PLA Basic

Clean finish, good stiffness and predictable production for detail, prototypes and indoor parts.

Appearance and finish

Smooth surface with a slight sheen; layer lines remain visible at close range.

Practical behaviour

Rigid and dimensionally stable in normal indoor use, but can deform with heat and fracture under hard impact.

Reference HDT*≈ 57 °C

Typical applications

  • Indoor organisers
  • Visual and fit prototypes
  • Decorative objects and models

When not to choose it

There is meaningful heat, permanent sun, repeated impact or a specific regulatory requirement.

Advantages

  • Crisp detail
  • Good stiffness
  • Efficient production

Limitations

  • Low heat resistance
  • Not for permanent outdoor use
  • Limited impact resistance

Unit and repeat production

Suitable for one unit or repeat runs; colour, orientation and finish are confirmed in the proposal.

02

PLA Matte

Matte appearance and fine texture for visual objects where lower gloss and less prominent layer lines matter.

Appearance and finish

Matte, finely textured and visually softened layer lines; actual colour can vary with lighting and batch.

Practical behaviour

Similar to PLA Basic in indoor use and chosen mainly for appearance; it should not be assumed to be mechanically superior.

Production ease5/5
Reference HDT*≈ 55 °C

Typical applications

  • Geometric decor
  • Visual enclosures and organisers
  • Models and presentation pieces

When not to choose it

Impact, heat, outdoor use or a completely smooth surface without post-processing is the priority.

Advantages

  • Low gloss
  • Less prominent layers
  • Uniform appearance

Limitations

  • Limited heat and UV
  • Does not replace manual finishing
  • Sample may differ from screen

Unit and repeat production

Useful for one-offs and small visual runs. Colour availability is always confirmed before production.

03

PETG HF

A functional balance of durability, impact and moisture tolerance for general technical parts.

Appearance and finish

Smooth, matte texture with more even gloss than conventional PETG; support marks and orientation still depend on geometry.

Practical behaviour

Tougher than PLA and moisture tolerant, with some flex. It can suit sheltered, non-critical outdoor use after review, but it is not presented as a solution for prolonged UV or weather exposure.

Reference HDT*≈ 69 °C

Typical applications

  • Indoor technical enclosures
  • Functional mounts
  • Humid environments without permanent sun

When not to choose it

The part will remain in continuous sun, near high heat or requires food/medical certification.

Advantages

  • Good toughness
  • Moisture tolerance
  • Versatile functional use

Limitations

  • Finish may mark
  • Permanent sun not recommended
  • Tolerances depend on geometry

Unit and repeat production

Suitable for one-offs and functional runs after orientation, fit and finish are validated.
